OmgMhazzRocks

Tonight I stepped back into MySpace land and wow it feels weird. Right now i'm listening to Mhazz singing Umbrella and what a beautiful voice she got.

Its my second time of listening to her 3 songs and I love them.....wait.....and now i'm on a third round of Sail The World.

I mentioned in my last blog that it wouldn't be the same having a gathering without Mhazz. She wrote in her blog something about people not making the effort to come to Glasgow (LondonGlasgow).

I say it doesn't matter if they cant make it, there will still be us, the real friends of our community and thats all that matters.

I'm feeling good tonight; YouStage won recently, Nerifest was like the good old days and my plans for later this year are looking bright...

I'm going to Toronto for the 888 meetup gathering, Myles is organising an EPIC gathering to celebrate the YouStage competition and also I have some ambitious ideas for that gathering which I want to tell the world but not just yet.

Nerifest '08

Me and Mhazz have been to every single gathering so far, if there was ever a gethering without Mhairi it just wouldn't be the same.

This Nerifest gathering was by far the most fun I had in a long time and this time it was more than just meeting new people - it was about meeting up with old friends I have known for a long time.

My one regret about leaving London is that I never got to say goodbye to Brandon (alacruz). I got on so well with the guy it makes me feel bad he's going back to the states soon.

If Jazza wants to call me a camera whore then he can go eat some oranges - but when I got interviewed by Steve (friend of Anna coinkidink) it gave me the chance to say some meaningful things on camera that I wouldn't normally say on YouTube.
I will admit I like attention (who doesn't) but it felt good for me to get some things off my chest.

How the hell do I describe such an amazing experience without sounding emo ?!
One word to sum it all up would be "Epic" .... and it truly was.

I never thought I would end up becoming friends with such big names on YouTube and staying in a hostel with them overnight. (This was a really suttle emo moment for me - I cried a little inside)

Alex, happy birthday. I had a great time!

Katie - NSGmusic

Download HD video

So the first weekend of April NSG and I decided to make a new music video (or two).
We went to Yoyo’s basement club where NSG introduced me to a couple of his friends – one of which was Mark Ronson.

On the day of the shoot we arrived back to my car half an hour late and I got a parking penalty of £80 (for just two hours of parking).
Today when I was thinking of an appeal I noticed that the registration they recorded was wrong. So those money grabbers can kiss my ass! – and get a real job.

Technical Specs:

Filmed on a Sony HDR-FX1 set into 'CineFrame25' (progressive mode) with the 'CinemaTone' gamma picture profile.

Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and cropped into a '2.4:1' aspect ratio by exporting final video into 1920x792 resolution.

Most shots are enhanced with color grading filters using 'Magic Bullet Looks' - effects such as the 'Warm & Fuzzy' and 'MisFire Vignette' (additional plug-in for Premiere Pro).

Selected shots were further enhanced with an artificial 'Depth of Field' look by applying a 'lens blur' effect in Adobe After Effects 7 Pro.

Exported into an un-compressed AVI at 1920x792 (2.4:1 aspect) and exported again using QuickTime Pro for the HD video and a YouTube compressed video with the H.264 codec before finally uploading.

Here is the original music video for Katie posted a few months ago:
