Would they ACTUALLY charge you £75 for a sandwich?

Were living in a world that punishes people with more consequences for their mistakes than rewarding them for good positive things.

Its a shame that local councils have the nerve and the cheek to try and profit from litter. Its making extortion from individuals which is justified as a means of educating them about their no litter policies.

If your gonna teach people not to drop litter, then they should be asked to pick up their trash and to not do it again. Its just common decency, but charging them so much money over a sandwich is fucking rude - especially when its a food bi-product which naturally came from the earth!

I know what you mean, I think it would be more responsible to come up with an idea of prasing those who don't litter.

I personally can't think of any good ideas...best I have is if a public bin makes some kind of pleasing noise when you drop litter in...

Devil's advocate / council worker:

Ok, so you tell them to pick it up and not do it again ?

What if:

A) They refuse to pick it up.

B) You tell them to pick it up and not do it again. The same thing happens with the same person the next day. And the next. And the next ...

Councils are not just doing this to make money.
As you know, I travel about a lot, working on the mobile library. I am amazed how often I see people (paid by the council) with grabbers and plastic bags picking up litter, all over the city. I am shocked how much money we have to waste on this, which would be saved if people JUST PUT THEIR RUBBISH IN THE BIN IN THE FIRST PLACE !
